Chủ nghĩa bản địa bài ngoại (tiếng Anh: Nativism từ tiếng Latinh: nasci, "sinh ra"; nativus "bẩm sinh, tự nhiên") là quan điểm chính trị của việc hỗ trợ một tình trạng được ưa chuộng cho các cư dân của một quốc gia (nghĩa là công dân tự xác định) so với yêu cầu của những người mới hoặc người nhập cư.[1] Theo Fetzer, (2000)đối việc lập với việc nhập cư phổ biến ở nhiều nước vì vấn đề bản sắc dân tộc, văn hóa và tôn giáo. Hiện tượng này được nghiên cứu đặc biệt tại Úc, Canada, New Zealand và Hoa Kỳ, cũng như châu Âu trong những năm gần đây, nơi nhập cư được xem là giảm lương của người bản xứ mà có thu nhập thấp. Như vậy nativism đã trở thành một thuật ngữ chung cho 'sự đối lập với việc nhập cư' dựa trên sự lo ngại rằng những người nhập cư sẽ bóp méo hoặc làm hỏng các giá trị văn hóa hiện có.

Trong tình huống mà người nhập cư rất đông hơn các cư dân nguyên thủy,[2] phong trào nativistic có thể cho phép tồn tại văn hóa. Trong các nghiên cứu học thuật nativism là một thuật ngữ kỹ thuật tiêu chuẩn. Thuật ngữ này, tuy nhiên, thường không được chấp nhận bởi những người có quan điểm chính trị này. Dindar (2010) đã viết "nativists... không coi họ là nativists. Đối với họ đó là một thuật ngữ tiêu cực và họ tự coi mình là người 'yêu nước.'" [3] Chống nhập cư là một thuật ngữ trung tính hơn cho những đối thủ của việc nhập cư.
